Tzedakah Charity Gardening
 
When: 5-7pm Wednesday Evenings
Where: Pushing the Envelope Farm, 1700 Averill Road, Geneva
What: Come and help out at Pushing the Envelope Farm’s Tzedakah Charity Garden. 
Volunteers help us plant, maintain, and harvest food for the Northern Illinois Foodbank.

About Us: Pushing the Envelope Farm is a Jewish educational and community farm. 
The farm grows and sells organic produce and has milking goats, laying chickens, and honey bees.

Hazon Bike Ride & Pushing the Envelope Farm!
 
Hazon, a national Jewish environmental organization
that promotes sustainable food systems and healthy living, is hosting
part of their annual Cross- USA Bike Ride at Pushing the Envelope Farm!

On July 26th, the riders will kick off their stay in the Chicago area at the
farm’s “Fermentation Frolic.” The event is free and open to the public,
and visitors will get to experience local, organic food at its best, participate in
hands- on workshops, and learn about what is happening in the sustainable
foods movement.

Family Service & Potluck!
Friday, July 13, 6:30 p.m. at Peck Farm Park’s Orientation Barn
The evening will begin with a family service, led by Rebbi Fred Margulies, 
followed by a vegetarian/dairy potluck. 
Please bring non-meat dishes, only. 
RSVP asap and to rachely@fvjn.org with what you will bring 
(so we can plan accordingly).
 
If your last name begins with:
A – G: Set-up/clean-up 
(*Please come 15 minutes early and stay 15 minutes after.)
H – N: Salads or side dishes
O – T: Main dishes
U – Z: Desserts 
 
Peck Farm Park is located on Kaneville Rd. in Geneva, 
just west of Peck Road.

Gardening with FVJN!

FVJN Garden in Geneva    
FVJN volunteers of all ages are needed to help with planting on Saturday, July 14 (and Saturday, Aug. 11), starting at 8 a.m.
Meet at the SW corner of Third St. and State St. (Rt. 38)
 
FVS students and families are especially encouraged to come help as well as learn about the art, design, nature, prayer and more, which all contribute to our garden.
 
The garden we are responsible for is on the southwest corner of State St. (Rt. 38) and Third St., in Geneva.
You can just show up or contact our volunteer garden coordinator: marci@worddesigner.net.
If able, please bring gardening gloves, shovel, trowel, clippers, etc.
