Come Celebrate with FVJN this Friday!

As we celebrate fall with a chill in the air, we are fortunate to also celebrate FVJN’s first ever Executive Director! Rachel Yackley has agreed to help shepherd FVJN through even greater growth in her new role as Executive Director. While many of you may know Rachel as a steadfast leader of religious services (of both bar and bat mitzvah and Friday night and Havdallah varieties), music teacher at FVJS, committee chair and general guru of all things FVJN, we have added yet another hat to the many she already wears. Since FVJN’s inception, Rachel has been involved in helping FVJN increase its offerings to the community and we are excited to grow FVJN even further under her guidance.

We certainly hope that you will all join us for our Shabbat Evening this Friday which will include blessings over challah and wine (or grape juice), a potluck dinner and a dessert celebration for Rachel’s new role! We welcome you to share an evening of community and fun as we start our season of celebrations. If this Friday does not work for you, please mark your calendar for our annual Chanukah party on December 9.

May we all approach this Thanksgiving season with a sense of all that we have to be thankful for and an appreciation for ways in which we can help others! Whether it is bringing non-perishable food to any FVJN event (including this Friday’s Shabbat Evening), cooking for Lazarus House on the first Wednesday of each month or joining us to volunteer, find ways to show your thanks and help our community.  Feel free to reach out to info@fvjn.org for all the opportunities to get involved and help out.

In closing, please also consider giving generously to support all of the wonderful work FVJN undertakes. We will soon be emailing out our annual donation requests, but know that you can always make a donation on our webpage (fvjn.org), providing general support or a donation in memory or celebration.

May you and yours celebrate a wonderful season full of much to be thankful for!  At FVJN we are thankful for so much, including Rachel and all of you!!

Warmest wishes,
Tammie
